Please note!  There has been a change of date in one of our upcoming events.  The Oneg Shabbat Honoring New Members has been changed from November 21st to Friday, December 19th.  We will have music by Miri Hunter Haruach.

Circle the date of Tuesday, December 2nd, 7:00 p.m. at Beth Shalom!

Desserts, music, singing to start the celebration of Hanukka!  Sisterhood’s Hannuka  Candlelight Dessert Party!  We’re expecting you.  Come and share an evening of luscious desserts, music, singing, and conversation.  Celebrate this magic season with us by bringing a dessert and guest.  Call Bonnie Neville 562-691-1541 or Ann Kanahele 714-526-6140.

Hebrew School meets every Thursday in November except the 27th.  No school on the 27th, due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

Please note: Beth Shalom will be cooking and serving food to 30 homeless people on December 22 – 29 at East Whittier United Methodist Church.  The following shifts are available:

                   Breakfast 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

                   Dinner 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

                   Clean-up 8:00 p.m. to midnight

If you have any contacts in the food industry, we need donated food, and we need monetary donations to purchase food that isn’t donated.  Please contact Rita Rubin at 562-943-3335 if you can help in any way.

If you would like to help and would enjoy a fun evening out, come join our Bingo workers.  It’s an evening of work and fun, but most of all you spend quality time with some great people.  Come meet these important people who make our synagogue possible.  We would love to see you and would really appreciate your help.

Planning something to be held here at Beth Shalom?  Talk to our Custodian, John Walton.  He needs to know how to set it up.  Please consult John when planning (or un-planning) an event and let him know about it.

In the event of a funeral, please call the Bereavement Committee, let them know you’d like to help, and ask what you can contribute.

Let’s talk some more about Bingo.  We’re still in need of Bingo workers.  How can we put it more plainly?  Beth Shalom needs the Bingo program, and each and every one of us should help in some way.  We’ve got sit-down jobs, stand-up jobs, and run-around jobs; take your pick.  Call John Singer at 562-696-5760 or Bonnie Neville at 562-691-1541.
